100 Things

I can't even imagine how much this list will change just within the next few weeks--it has already changed since I started it!


1. She was born on May 22, 2007 at 9:45am.
2. She was delivered by c-section.
3. She weighed 9 lbs. and was 20 ½ inches long.
4. She had a head full of black hair.
5. She was very, very loud; the nurses called her “vocal.”
6. She always managed to get her little hand out of those hospital blankets.
7. She had difficulty nursing for the first 2 weeks.
8. She put herself on a feeding schedule of every 3 hours almost immediately.
9. She loved being swaddled.
10. Her favorite song is “Hush Little Baby.”
11. She has heard it approximately 1200 times so far.
12. The Baby Einstein Lullaby CD Volume 1 has been repeatedly playing every time she sleeps for the past 7 ½ months.
13. She started sleeping in her own room around 2 ½ or 3 months.
14. She likes to sleep on her side with her head tilted back.
15. She sleeps with her mouth wide open.
16. She is a slow eater.
17. She took her first bottle at 4 weeks.
18. She refused to take a bottle again until she was 3 months old.
19. Her first baby food was rice cereal at 4 months.
20. Her first vegetable was peas at 6 months.
21. Her first fruit was prunes—out of necessity.
22. She easily rolls from her back to her stomach, but she doesn’t go the other way very often.
23. She loves to be rocked.
24. She only uses her binky to go to sleep.
25. Her mommy thinks she just has the sweetest little face ever!
26. She started sitting up around 5 ½ months.
27. She has taken 3 road trips to the panhandle of Florida.
28. She is a Gemini.
29. She got her first teeth on the bottom at 3 months.
30. She has been teething for the past 6 months.
31. She hates teething gel.
32. She screams the loudest when her nose is getting sucked out. 33. She likes the “Itsy-Bitsy Spider.”
34. She likes the song “Bad, Bad Leroy Brown.”
35. She hates having clothes pulled over her head.
36. She has an outie.
37. Stroking her cheek calms her down.
38. She loves to be outside.
39. She gets excited about her exersaucer.
40. Her smile is infectious.
41. She squeals when she is happy.
42. She only giggles on special occasions.
43. She plays on the floor a lot.
44. She adores her daddy.
45. It is the best to get her when she first wakes up and is talking in her crib.
46. She can find a tag in 1 second flat.
47. She lunges for anything that comes within 3 inches of her face and tries to bite it.
48. She does it with such ferocity.
49. She has said “mama” and “dada.”
50. She has discovered her tongue.
51. Her fingernails are always entirely too long.
52. Pink is her signature color.
53. She is amazing.
54. When she is sleepy-upset, she puts her arms out and rotates her hands at the wrist.
55. You can tell she is tired because she yawns and rubs her eyes—duh!
56. She has dimples.
57. She lets you read books to her.
58. She likes to bring Myrtle the Turtle in the car with her.
59. She likes to watch football.
60. She does not like to watch golf.
61. She is not necessarily named after Harper Lee, but of course that is where we got her name.
62. She likes to dance.
63. Her hair started falling out after she was born, but its growing back.
64. She sleeps in footy pajamas every night.
65. She sleeps without blankets.
66. She takes a bath every night before bed.
67. Her bedtime is between 7:30 and 8:30.
68. She doesn’t dress up too often; she prefers onesies.
69. Her feet always have socks on them.
70. She spits up—a lot.
71. She can put her whole fist in her mouth.
72. She has a fake cry.
73. She has a fake cough.
74. She has a fake laugh.
75. She has 3 aunts.
76. She has 5 uncles.
77. She has 4 cousins.
78. Her Nonna and Poppa live in Naples.
79. Her GranLinda and Granddaddy live in Pensacola.
80. She likes other babies.
81. At home, she is also called Harper Bean and Baby Cakes.
82. She does not like to be called Harpie or Harpo.
83. She knows, without a doubt, what the wheels on the bus do.
84. Her mommy sometimes worries that she eats too much.
85. Her mommy sometimes worries that she doesn’t get enough to eat.
86. She goes to “school” 3 days a week.
87. She likes to give kisses.
88. She has once been described as having “big, soulful eyes.”
89. She has a stork bite.
90. Avocados make her yawn.
91. She gags on mashed bananas that are not made by Gerber.
92. She used to take yoga.
93. She is learning how to use a sippy cup.
94. Oh, and she just this second learned how to throw it on the floor—repeatedly.
95. She currently moves around by spinning 360 degrees.
96. She can make her mommy and daddy laugh no matter what.
97. She loves to have her picture taken.
98. She can’t wait to meet her Mimi & Pop in person.
99. At least one thing on this list has already changed.
100. She will be able to do and be anything she wants to when she grows up!
